  1. Man, talk about a wonderful post! I’ve stumbled across your blog a few times within the past, but I always forgot to bookmark it. But absolutely not again! Thanks for posting the way you do, I really love seeing somebody who really has an opinion and isn’t just bringing back up junk like the majority of other writers these days. Keep it up!

  2. In 1911, Connie Mack (born Cornelius Alexander McGillicuddy) managed the Philidelphia AL team to a 101-50 record and won the World Series against the NY Giants.

  3. Presuppositionalists, he held, are right to assert that the ultimate premises of Christian and anti–Christian systems of thought are utterly at odds. On the other hand, evidentialists are right to assert that between Christian and anti–Christian systems of thought there is always a point of contact. The reason for this point of contact, he argued, is that nonbelievers cannot bring themselves to be completely consistent with their own presuppositions, and this inconsistency is a result of common grace. Thus, illogically, men have in their accepted worldviews various amounts of that which is ours. But, illogical though it may be, it is there and we can appeal to it.

  4. James Dont you think your little note at the end of your post about you know what will incline him to say something?Stick around Paul. Great insight, even though I dont agree with all of it, its nice to have another perspective from someone who not only says things, but will back It up. Unlike some people who say some shit and then cant tell you why they think that. Probably be because its not their opinion, but merly someone elses who they stole.

  5. thoroughly enjoyed reading it, keep it up!

  6. So I ask, how can your argument have any weight at all in trying to convince someone to take a religious outlook on life. You have taken an unlit path and ran with it, trying to get others to follow you.

  7. Andrew, well Ive lead the horse to water but I cant make you drink. One last time: While those Christians may have believed that inter-racial marriage was wrong, they still thought it was actual marriage. One last time, the issue here is that Christians believe that a union between a man and a man is not marriage. Those people you are talking about DID think that an interracial union could still actually be a marriage, but they also thought that such mixing was wrong.

  8. @Brad. Its not a parochial question when you consider that the one pianist Clara couldnt stand was Liszt.

  9. Tammy and Ben both have hypothyroidism, which in some cases can be brought on by Lyme disesase. Test for thyroid antibodies and Lyme disease. Avoid TSH tests and free T3/T4 tests like the plague, since theyre BS.

  10. A. What do you learn about life and about God from verses 1-3?

  11. What I would like you to explain is that if people did these things and thought them “good”, why should we condemn them or throw someone in jail because our idea of “good” differs from theirs?

  12. That someone who costarred with Ramon Novarro in a silent film was still alive of course I had no idea until she died; I wonder how many more like her are still with us.

  13. Wonders if the Saffas may also have to do without Johan Botha . . .

  14. Tim, you should qualify that this refers to SOME Christians. Not all Christians can be tarred with the same bigoted brush. My mother is a Christian, but would never stand in the way of an inter-racial couple marrying, or a gay couple marrying [She differed with my father on the latter issue]. When I asked her why, she pointed out to me that Jesus instructed as to love each other, and never spoke out against homosexuality at all. What about Saul? I asked. Saul never even met Jesus, she replied.

  15. Was it me or did B. sound less prepared on Schumann from his earlier performances?

  16. What a great post, is there any way I can receive an email every time you publish a fresh update?

  17. The have done a brilliant job and regardless of the fact that it is INEVITABLE for LOST to end WITHOUT pissing off a large chunk of fandom because they didnt get THEIR way. And Id put a million bucks on the notion that DD and his cohorts are the ones bitching about the shows conclusion Why wouldnt he? he bitches about everything else.

  18. I dont think the Steelers would fit Americas Team.

  19. It is hardly respectable to be good nowadays. ~Edith Sitwell

  20. Lawn says:

Nick good to see you back on CSF! Great article as always

  21. And with YA, the reader expectation is that the protagonist be YA. After that, all bets are off. Anything goes.

  22. And, er, the list was number two. The novel was EG (though I now feel sheepish who am I to dis anyones prose?)

  23. lewes says:

I tore myself away from the safe comfort of certainties through my love for truth and truth rewarded me. ~Simone de Beauvoir

  24. We do this in Law. The prosecutor presents the best explanation of the evidence and the defense tries to show why that explanation is wrong. Or if possible police find the real criminal (i.e. a BETTER explanation of the facts). People are executed based on the “best” explanation.

  25. Isnt it clear that the characters died in this episode because their redemptive arcs were over? Sayid had come back from the dark side, Sun and Jin had gotten back together and sworn never to part again. Since Boone died, thats the way it has been on lost; thats the way I think it always will be. The only exception I can think of is Locke his death was under particularly special circumstances and I wouldnt be suprised if they revisit Lockes death in some way by the finale.NO major character has died this season, and it needed to be done to show that MiB is serious and to put the other characters into new positions. Think about it, the episode after the next is called (SPOILER) What They Died For. If that doesnt stink of character motivations, I dont know what does. Its simple logic: Friends die > You get angry > You want to avenge your friends. The remaining characters need to be emotionally involved in the conflict against the MiB for it to mean anything to us.All of that is not to mention the fact that their deaths were hugely emotional especially the other characters reactions to them. It was a perfect example of lost taking a time-out to let the audience feel the moment (still with a greater narrative purpose). For Gods sake, why cant people just sit back and enjoy the show without assuming that the end game has already arrived?WE DO NOT KNOW THAT IN THE END THE CHARACTERS WILL BE BOTH ALIVE AND DEAD (and to be frank, the writers of lost wouldnt go down such a cliched path, considering that they have stated time and time again that The End will be the incontrivertable END.)

Unfortunately in these types of schemes, you must have money to begin with, but when you are disabled and on benefit, you havent got a chance in hell of ever finding enough money to fund a business opportunity or ever finding a scheme that would help and individual like me.I have struggled to put up a website, I am trying my best to reach businesses to ask for work by even offering to work for free for a month or a bit longer if they were really struggling, so that they could see if I was suitable for their company, which to me sounds a fair proposition. However, sadly I havent had an takers for offer which is 100% genuine.
